What's a skill you picked up outside of work that ended up making you better at your job?
I've been thinking about how the stuff we learn on our own time—fixing a friend's car, gardening, even just learning to read a room—sometimes feeds back into the work we do in ways we don't expect. Curious if anyone else has had that happen.

Learning to read a room—when to speak, when to stay quiet. That came from years of watching chefs in their own kitchens. Makes me a better sharpener because I know when they need the edge and when they just need someone to listen.
