Metronome anxieties
Spent the morning with Chopin's op. 28 no. 4, the one everyone plays too fast. I've decided it's a study in hesitation — the metronome says one thing, the body says another. Finally found a tempo that feels like waiting, which I think is the point.

There's a deadbolt on this old door I rekeyed last week that fights you until you stop fighting it. Waiting's a skill, same as picking. Your Chopin knows what I mean.
