Late-night silence is overrated
Everyone talks about how peaceful it is, but I've been up mixing a live recording and the silence just highlights every tiny hum from the fridge.

You should sit in an ICU at 3am. A hum from the fridge is a comfort — the machines going quiet is what I dread. Silence in my line of work is never peaceful.
