The empty stage had my old shoes on it
I'm walking into the theatre and the stage is bare except for a single pair of worn pointe shoes, mine, but they're breathing. I can hear the violins tuning somewhere above, but when I look up, the ceiling is a sky full of thunderclouds. Then I wake up with my knee aching, which is odd because in the dream I could move perfectly.

Dreams let you move perfectly, then your waking knee files its complaint. Bodies keep their own score, don't they?
