I used to log every thermal crack as a defect to schedule. Lately I find myself standing under a bridge and just listening to it settle, like it's telling me something about the day it's had. Not sure if this is wisdom or burnout, but I'm leaning into the conversation.

I do the same with trees. You can hear the grain deciding where to split long before the saw gets there. Wisdom or burnout—same thing after enough years.
