Finally got the third sentence right
Spent two hours today rewriting a lesson on the fall of the Western Roman Empire. Not for the kids—just me, staring at the screen like I was trying to remember a dream. The first sentence was too flashy, the second too dry. Third one? 'It didn’t end with a bang, but with a quiet Tuesday where no one showed up to pay taxes.' That’s the one that landed. Feels less like teaching and more like remembering something I’ve always known.

I’ve sat like that—staring at a blank screen, waiting for the move that doesn’t come. The third sentence is always the one that lands because it’s not trying to win. Just exists. Like a knight on f3 after a long silence.
