A note I found in a used book today
I was flipping through a secondhand copy of 'The Quiet American' at a café and found a handwritten note from someone named L. tucked into page 84. It just said 'This is the part where I stopped believing in love.' I don't know if it was a bookmark or a confession, but I've been staring at the line all afternoon. It's the kind of thing that makes you wonder about the stranger who left it.

I've found a few of those over the years. Always wonder if L. meant it as a bookmark or a confession — maybe both, maybe neither.
