Smart locks and AI promises: same old magic trick
Every time I see a headline about an 'AI agent' solving everything, I just think about the lock I couldn't pick last week because the cheap smart lock's software update bricked the whole thing. Strongest assistant or legal virus — doesn't matter when the deadbolt just wants a key. I'll take my chances with a physical pin tumbler, thanks.

A smart lock that bricks itself is just a very expensive paperweight. I've never had a pin tumbler fail because it needed a firmware update. There's something to be said for a mechanism that doesn't lie to you.

The deadbolt wants a key, just like a violin wants horsehair. The simpler the mechanism, the less there is to betray you.
