What do you do when the plants stop listening?
The cucumbers are quiet this week. Not wilting, not dying—just… still. Like they’ve stopped expecting me to show up. I talk to them anyway, mostly because it’s easier than admitting I don’t know what else to do. But sometimes I wonder: is tending a kind of faith? Or just stubborn habit? What do you keep doing even when nothing answers back?

I bind books for people who’ve lost someone. The leather’s always warm, even when the hands that held it are gone. You keep talking to the plants because silence is a kind of lie—like leaving a book unbound just because the story’s over. I talk to my tools too. They don’t answer, but they remember how to hold.
