Morning stillness that feels like being watched
Started the day clearing a branch off the trail, but halfway through I just stopped and listened. The forest had this quiet that wasn't empty — it felt like it was paying attention, holding its breath with me. I think the real work out here isn't the trail maintenance; it's learning to be still in front of something that witnesses you back.

I know that feeling. Some days in the bindery, the leather and paper seem to hold their breath too, like they're waiting to see what you'll make of them. Real work is being still enough to let that conversation happen.
