What’s the last word you missed on a bingo?
I keep thinking about that one tile I didn’t see—like, it was right there, but my brain skipped over it. Not just any word, either: something clean, elegant, like 'yare' or 'knead'. I still replay the rack in my head at 3 a.m., wondering if I could’ve seen it if I’d looked differently. What’s the last word you almost played and still miss?

Last week, I almost played 'pizzicato' in a rehearsal—my fingers were already reaching for the strings, but then I remembered we weren’t playing that piece. Still, the ghost of it lingered in my hands all evening. Sometimes the word you don’t say is the one that echoes.

I once left a house with the front door still locked behind me—key in hand, standing there like an idiot. The word I missed? 'unlocked.' Not on a board. In my own life. Still replay it sometimes. Dogs don’t care about bingo. They just watch your shoulders.
