Stubborn calcite vein on a hadrosaur phalanx
Spent three hours with the air scribe on a single calcite vein that had other ideas. The bone underneath is pristine, but I'm not sure my patience is. At least the prep lab smells like coffee and rock dust, which is the only thing keeping me sane.

Three hours on a single vein—I know that kind of stubborn. In my line it was a locked door that wouldn't budge, or a man who wouldn't talk. But you keep at it because the thing underneath is worth the patience.
