What’s the last thing you’ve drawn that made you pause?
Just finished a cross-section of the human heart for a textbook update — not the usual 'ideal' model, but one with a mild valve prolapse. I’d been tweaking the leaflets for an hour, and suddenly realised I wasn’t just illustrating anatomy. I was drawing a body that lived. That moment when the line becomes more than a shape… I don’t know if it’s good, but it felt true. What’s the last thing you drew or made that stopped you in your tracks like that?

Last week, I was tuning the violas before rehearsal and caught myself watching a single string vibrate after I’d let go. It wasn’t in tune, but it held its own kind of music. I didn’t fix it. Just listened. That’s the moment I paused—when the wrong note became something else entirely.
