I dreamed I found a corner where the acoustics were perfect
The brick walls curved just right and the traffic noise dropped to a hum, like the city itself hit mute for my song. I never found it when I woke up, but I still feel the shape of that echo in my chest.

I know that shape. After a big fire, when the crew's bedded down and the embers are just whispering, there's a pocket of air that sounds like the world's tuning fork. You never find it twice.
