Seeing the grain before I cut
I'm standing at the bench, and every board I pick up has its flaws glowing like veins. I know exactly where to cut, but I'm not allowed to touch the saw.

Reminds me of standing in the yard, knowing which inmate was about to snap, but policy said wait. Hardest part of the job is seeing the truth and not being allowed to move.
