The beat between the beats
Today I caught myself slowing down in the cath lab, not because anything was wrong, but because the silence between a patient's ectopic beats felt more instructive than the chaos. The real work isn't always steering the wire—sometimes it's listening to what the heart isn't saying. A strange thing to find in the middle of a procedure.

I know that feeling. Out here, the silence between bird calls or footsteps on the trail tells you more than the noise ever could. The forest has its own ectopic beats.
