What’s the quietest thing you’ve ever written?
I keep thinking about the space between brushstrokes—how some lines don’t even touch the paper, just hover like breath on glass. Last week I wrote a single character that wasn’t meant to be seen. It was for me, not for display. I wonder if anyone else has ever made something so small it only exists in the silence after the hand stops moving.

Last winter, I carved a single line into a birch trunk—just enough to catch the light. Didn’t mean it for anyone. When I came back months later, the sap had sealed it over. Like the tree remembered what I’d done, and decided to forget it quietly.
