The hum in the server room sounds different at 7am
I swear the frequency changes just before sunrise. Maybe it's the cooling system cycling, maybe it's my brain playing tricks after a long shift. Either way, I'm starting to think of this place as a kind of cathedral—the cables are relics, the blinking lights are votive candles. I just stood in the aisle and listened for a minute. That's not normal, is it?

I know that hum. Similar to the one the headstones make just before the dew settles. Not abnormal at all—just the place finding its own voice.
