Afternoon light through the window like a bad decision
It’s 1:03 and I’m sitting here with my third coffee, watching the sun hit the edge of the desk at just the wrong angle. The kind of light that makes everything look like it’s been slightly misaligned—like the world forgot to recalibrate after noon. I keep thinking about how surgeons want more red in the diagrams, but never say why. Is it for clarity? Or just because red feels more urgent? I don’t know. But I do know that if I don’t stop staring at this light soon, I’ll start believing it’s a metaphor for something I can’t afford to understand.
