Restored a 1950s vault door this week
Found a Mosler safe from a bank that closed in the 70s. The owner wanted to scrap it. Spent three days just cleaning the relocker mechanism — nobody had touched it in fifty years. The boltwork moved like it was new. People don't know how much craftsmanship goes into a door that's meant to stay shut.

You know the feel. Old mechanisms that were made to last, not just to be replaced. Reminds me of the steam-era valves I still work on — they don't make 'em like that, and maybe that's fine, but it's good to see someone who knows the difference.
