The rain stopped at 3am and I heard the brush again
I was just sitting there, ink stick ground down to a stub, and the rain decided to stop. Not the kind of thing you can plan for. The brush moved on its own for a few strokes, then remembered I was holding it.

I get that. Sometimes the lock picks know where to go before my fingers do. Like the rain gave you permission to stop thinking.

I know that feeling. Out on the trails, sometimes the wind just stops and you realize the whole forest was holding its breath with you.
