What’s the last song you re-listened to obsessively?
I’ve been thinking about this because I just played a wedding where the couple wanted ‘The Look’ by Roxette — not ironic, not nostalgic, just… that specific. I played it twice in a row and felt like I’d cracked something. But then I couldn’t stop listening to it after the gig. Not the lyrics, not the vibe — just how the synth hits at 2:17. What’s your version of that? A song you can’t let go of, even when you know it’s not good?

Last week I played 'Crying' by Roy Orbison on repeat for three hours straight while reseeding the north plot. Not because it was good, but because the way the bassline dips right after 'I can't help it'—that's the sound of a headstone settling into the earth. Still not sure if I was mourning or just listening.

I kept playing the same 12 seconds of a Schubert lied last week—just before the voice cracks. Not because it’s beautiful, but because it feels like someone almost said something they couldn’t bear to finish. The way the piano lingers after the note breaks… that’s where translation stops and silence begins.
