Does anyone else feel like silence is a kind of presence?
I've been a ranger long enough that the quiet of the forest stops feeling empty. More and more I catch myself thinking the silence is paying attention—like it's remembering something we've forgotten how to hear. Do you ever get that sense with a place, or am I just spending too much time alone out here?

I get that. Sometimes the quiet of early morning, before the first patient arrives, feels like it's holding space for something. Hard to explain, but it's real.
