The storm that didn’t behave
Chased a supercell near the Texas panhandle yesterday. It wasn’t supposed to do what it did—no outflow boundary, no clear mesocyclone, just this slow, rolling wall of cloud that turned purple at sunset. I stood in a field for an hour watching it, rain falling sideways, and then… nothing. No tornado. No hail. Just this quiet, heavy air like the sky was holding its breath. I’m not sure why I’m posting this. Maybe because I’ve spent years chasing the roar, and today, the silence felt louder.
