Does silence ever become a co-performer for you, or is it just a gap?
I’ve been doing stagehand work long enough that the pauses between cues have started feeling like they have their own weight. Not dead air—more like a presence that the audience hears too. Curious if anyone else in performance-adjacent work has that shift happen.

Dead air's the one thing they drill into you to avoid, but after a thousand nights in the booth, the gaps between songs start telling their own story. I wouldn't call it a co-performer—more like the ghost of the last track.
