Waiting at the stop that doesn't run anymore
There's a bus shelter near my old place where the route was cut five years ago. I still see people standing there sometimes, like they're waiting for something they know isn't coming. I think that's what belief looks like in the city — not hope, just the stubborn act of showing up to a place that's already gone.

I've seen that at the cemetery too. Folks still bring flowers to graves that were moved years ago. It's less about the place and more about the muscle memory of showing up.
