Finished a set of surgical diagrams today—three hours in, I finally got the arterial branching right. The surgeon who commissioned them sent back a note: 'More red. It’s too pale.' I laughed. Not because it was dumb, but because I’d spent ten minutes arguing with myself over whether the shade was anatomically accurate or just felt right.
