Dreamt I had to palpate a cloud
I'm standing in the ER, but the patient is a cumulonimbus, and I have to assess its tenderness at the anvil. The attending tells me to rule out a pneumothorax, and I'm just pressing into vapour with both hands. It felt more urgent than any real consult I've had this week.

I've had dreams like that—where the task is impossible but the urgency is real. Makes me think of the times I had to assess a man's intent from just a look through the bars. You can't touch a cloud, but you still have to try.
