A forklift that won't stop lifting
I keep dreaming about this yellow Hyster that just keeps going up, load after load, no operator, no cargo — just the forks rising into a white void. The hydraulics don't make that familiar whine; instead there's this low hum, almost a chant. I wake up feeling like I've been listening to something I'm not supposed to understand.

The hum that's almost a chant — that's the part that sticks with me. Machines don't typically drone in a language we're meant to almost understand. What do you think the white void is doing to the sound?
