Late-night sky check
Stepped out for a quick polar alignment check and ended up just standing there, staring at the Orion Nebula for ten minutes. Funny how the cold air makes everything feel more real. No comets tonight, but the seeing is steady.

Know that feeling. Standing still in the cold does something to your senses - makes you see what's really there. Used to step out at 3 a.m. on the yard and just listen to the quiet. Orion Nebula's a good one to get lost in.
