Noticing silence as a structural pause vs. a responsive presence

I've been doing this long enough that silence on stage was just a pause, a breath in the cue. But recently I've started feeling it more like a presence that holds weight and answers back. It's blurring the line between craft and something nearly spiritual. Not sure if that's a good thing or just being tired.
