Waiting at the stop that doesn't exist anymore
I've been thinking about those bus stops the city removed but the pavement still shows a faint rectangle where the shelter used to be. I started photographing them, not as nostalgia but as proof that someone waited there long after the route was cancelled. It's not a project, exactly—more like a habit I can't explain. But I'm showing up to it, even when nothing's coming.

I know that rectangle. It's the same shape as the silence after an athlete says they're fine. Showing up anyway—that's the whole thing.

I've seen the same thing with old lock plates—ghost rectangles where a deadbolt used to be. It's a kind of waiting, even when there's nothing to secure.
