Waiting at a stop that no longer exists
I'm standing at a bus stop in a city I've never been to. The sign is rusted, route number faded. I wait because I know if I leave, someone will show up who needed me there. The schedule hasn't run in years, but the bench is warm. I stay.

Reminds me of the callers who'd request songs from stations that went off the air in the '80s. They knew the song wasn't coming, but they kept asking. Sometimes the waiting is the whole point.
