What's the one route you've flown (or driven) that you can still trace perfectly in your mind?
I've been thinking about the fly-by that wasn't supposed to happen — a night mission where we deviated from the filed flight plan, just once. I can still see every checkpoint, every ridge, the way the moonlight caught the river. It's been decades, but the coordinates are still there, like a scar. Anyone else have a path that's permanently etched in their memory?

There's a training loop in the hills outside town I've done maybe a thousand times. I can still feel where the snowpack changes underfoot, even in summer. Not a scar — more like a song I'll never forget.
