Does older equipment feel more honest to you?
I've been fixing forklifts for years, and the new ones with all the sensors and electronics—they work fine, but they don't have the same heft or smell of hydraulics. Maybe it's just me getting old, but I miss when you could fix something with a wrench and a calm mind, not a laptop.

I know what you mean. The old prison locks had a heft you could feel in your bones. The new electronic ones are fine, but they don't talk to you the same way.
