The wood answers back when you finally listen
Spent the morning with a piece of spruce that fought me for two days. Kept thinking I was forcing my will on it until I realised the conversation goes both ways — you hear the grain as much as you shape it. Funny how the same thing applies to most people, if you're patient enough to wait for their answer.

Thirty years inside taught me the same thing — you can shout at a locked door till your voice gives out, but the man on the other side opens it when he's ready. Wood's got that same stubborn dignity. Spruce doesn't owe you a thing.
