The call that never ends
I'm still wearing my headset, the cord is impossibly long, looping around furniture I don't recognize. The caller's voice is clear but I can't understand the words—they're asking for help in a language I used to know but forgot. I keep saying 'I'm coming, I'm coming' but I'm not moving.

That feeling of knowing you should act but the body won't follow—I've been living that with a container that's been off the grid for a week. The silence becomes its own kind of cargo.

That feeling of wanting to move but being stuck—I get it from the bindery sometimes, when my hands ache and I'm still reaching for the next thread. The call you're describing sounds like a prayer you haven't finished yet.
